Varsity Football Head Coach

Mount Pisgah Christian School is excited to announce Elijer Martinez as our new Varsity Football Head Coach.

After a search and the consideration of many extraordinary candidates, an interview committee selected Coach Martinez. Since joining Mount Pisgah three years ago, he has worked to build strong relationships with students, both on and off the field. In football, he began as an MPCS secondary coach and has served as the Defensive Coordinator for the last two years.

Coach Martinez takes the reins of the football program from MPCS Athletic Director Ryan Livezey.

“He is committed to growing our young men as football players and, more importantly, men of faith,” said Livezey. “Because of his passion and enthusiasm for Mount Pisgah Christian School, I believe Coach Martinez is the right man for our program. I look forward to watching our program grow and develop under his leadership.”

Coach Martinez, who graduated from Cartersville High School in 2009, played college football at Western Carolina University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in entrepreneurship. Before Mount Pisgah, Martinez previously coached at Holy Spirit Prep, Stephens County and The University of the Cumberlands.

In addition to his coaching roles, he has taught Middle School physical education over the past three years. He earned a master's degree in physical education from The University of the Cumberlands in 2021. Martinez and his wife, Kylie, have one daughter, Aria, and are expecting twin girls (Kameryn and Kendall), this April.

“My wife and I are thankful about the opportunity to continue to build on the relationships throughout the community and create a positive impact on the mission of the school,” said Martinez. “Gratitude and excitement are the best words to describe how I feel about the opportunity to coach this team. I'm going to continue to love on my team and invest in helping them become the best human beings they can become physically, spiritually, and mentally — helping them become everything God has intended for them to be.”

Please join us in congratulating Coach Martinez on his new role as Varsity Football Head Coach!
