The National Association for Music Education has designated March as Music in Our Schools Month. Throughout the month of March, members of the Tri-M National Music Honor Society have been highlighting the importance of music in our school community through various projects and performances—including celebrating music throughout our hallways.
Here are some fun facts about music involvement at Mount Pisgah and the relationship between involvement in music and academic achievement and social emotional skills:
There are currently 181 Middle and Upper School students enrolled in music classes at Mount Pisgah.
44 students are taking private music lessons through Mount Pisgah Arts Academy.
This year alone, students from Mount Pisgah have or will perform with Georgia All-State Orchestra, All-National Honor Mixed Chorus, GMEA District Five Honor Ensembles, the Augusta Symphony, and Carnegie Hall.
There are currently 20 members of Mount Pisgah's Tri-M Music Honor Society chapter.
