Our Faculty: Always Growing Professionally

This Monday we held Mount Pisgah’s first-ever EduCarnival for professional development. While you and your children were getting ready to return to school on Tuesday, 29 faculty led 17 sessions ranging from instructional strategies to topics related to how students learn best. Classrooms across campus were used for K - 12 teachers to learn together and collaborate. The purpose of the day was to unify campuses and for all faculty to have the opportunity to learn from the talented experts we have.

Teachers were asked what they wanted to hear about, and from that list, sessions were identified and individuals were asked to share their expertise. Mount Pisgah has exceptional faculty members with wonderful resources to share, and we were excited to spend this time building connections on our campus across all divisions.

Teachers had opportunities to collaborate with individuals interested in the same topics, challenge their understanding of educational approaches, and dive deeper into ways to better serve our students. Upper School faculty members noted one of their favorite parts of the day was sitting on the milk crates in the Kindergarten classroom while others enjoyed the cotton candy and popcorn as an afternoon snack.

We are grateful for the time to continue to learn and grow so we can better teach foundational truth in an ever-changing world, empowering students to think critically and creatively and to act with courage and compassion.

Thank you to our Academic team, with special thanks to Shannon Heotaky, Megan Koch, and Kari Heyworth for organizing this inspiring time for our faculty and staff!
