Grateful for the Teachers Who Guide Us

GRATEFUL FOR THE TEACHERS THAT GUIDE US

A student perspective on the encouragement, mentorship, and faith our teachers bring to the MPCS community.

By Chloe Parker, Class of 2028

Mount Pisgah values our teachers as individuals. We believe that teachers are the foundation of education. But our appreciation goes beyond just a week; we want teachers to know that they are appreciated everyday of the year. While that standard holds true we feel that it's essential to dedicate a week to making it feel special for teachers.

During Faculty Appreciation Week 2026, students were given the opportunity to celebrate their teachers and recognize them directly. There was a box for students to put notes about staff and how they appreciate them during teacher appreciation week, showing not only appreciation but zeal for this opportunity.

Mount Pisgah values appreciation and thanksgiving because it's what the bible says a good servant should do. Thanksgiving is a topic that stays consistent in our school whether that's during chapel or in our classrooms. Teachers are a huge part of how it stays a steady practice.

As a student, I want my teachers to know how much I appreciate them. Throughout the school our teachers go above and beyond what they just teach by providing fellowship outside of the classroom. They give it their all to help students understand the why of the material. My teachers help me overcome challenges and build confidence. God is reflected through the teachers here at Mount Pisgah.

Teachers also mentor students, they give them guidance and instruction. Whether that's in preparation for college or preparation for the next assignment. Teachers put in effort because they care about you.

The base for love of a subject starts in the classroom, and is started by the way that a teacher teaches.

Many students don't understand the importance of everything that their teacher does for them. Teachers don't complain, they don't grumble or groan when they don't get recognition.

In my eyes teachers are like superheroes, they have extraordinary abilities but don't boast about themselves.

The world would truly be nothing without teachers. We are so appreciative of our teachers for everything they do for students here at our faith-based Chrisitian school.
