The Mount Pisgah Athletics Department proudly welcomes Brad Watkins as Varsity Football Head Coach.

Watkins joins Mount Pisgah after two seasons as Offensive Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach at Campbell High School (the 7th largest school in Georgia). Watkins’ coaching career spans both secondary and collegiate football. Before making a change to coaching high school, Coach Watkins spent eight years coaching at the collegiate level at Sacred Heart University, Nichols College, and Wilmington College, where he coached the Defensive Line while also serving as Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. Coach Watkins began his coaching career at Old Dominion University.

Coach Watkins earned degrees in Physical Education and Health Education from Ohio Northern University in 2007, where he was a four-year letterman on the defensive line. He earned his Master’s in Education with a concentration in Exercise Science from Old Dominion University in 2011.

“I am very excited to be chosen to lead the Mount Pisgah football program, which is rich in tradition and history. My goal is to build on the heritage of Patriot football both on and off the field,” said Coach Watkins. “We will invest in our students by challenging them spiritually and physically within the school's vision. Our culture will empower student-athletes not to fear failure but to learn, grow, and develop from it while honoring God in all we do. I look forward to building impactful relationships with the players, coaches, and community in the years to come. I am ready to get to work and begin the process of building Patriot football.”

He and his wife, Taylor currently live in Marietta.

“Coach Watkins’ experience building and leading teams is impressive,” said Athletic Director Dana Ridenour. “He has a passion for helping young athletes grow in all areas of their lives, and we’re excited to welcome him to Mount Pisgah.”

As we welcome Coach Watkins, we also want to acknowledge the dedication and impact of Coach Martinez, whose leadership has left a lasting mark on our program.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude for all the time and effort Coach Martinez dedicated to our football program,” said Ridenour. “His leadership, passion, and commitment have profoundly impacted the team and the school community. Coach Martinez’s guidance helped our team grow as players and taught them valuable life lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Please join me in thanking Coach Martinez for his dedication and influence on our student's lives.”
