A WORLD OF LEARNING FOR OUR YOUNGEST PATRIOTS
From exploring the countries of the world to learning healthy habits, MPCS early learners discover big ideas in meaningful ways
From MPCS's Murray Academy Preschool to our Early Learning Center, learning looks hands-on, joyful, and full of discovery for our youngest students. Recently, classrooms across our Lower School and ELC engaged in two themed weeks that encouraged curiosity about the world and care for their own well-being.
Exploring the World Together
During Passport Week, Murray Academy students explored different countries and cultures through stories, conversations, and creative projects. Across classrooms, students and families shared pieces of their own heritage, a fun way of creating meaningful connections between home and school. A class of PK3 students focused on Mexico, where they learned about traditions and even made their own piñata. Later in the week, students "traveled" to Greece, with context provided by a Murray Academy parent.
Our Early Learning Center brought Passport Week to life in other imaginative ways. Parents visited classrooms to share about their family's heritage, and students in the Praise Room even “flew” around the world in a classroom-made "airplane," turning learning into a true global adventure.
Learning Healthy Habits Early
The following week, students shifted their focus to Dental Health Week, learning the importance of caring for their bodies. A local dentist from Mini Molars visited campus to teach healthy dental habits, helping students understand how daily routines like brushing and flossing support overall wellness - and how to fight those pesky "sugar bugs." Classrooms reinforced these lessons with fun, age-appropriate crafts and activities.
Whether exploring cultures around the world or learning how to care for their own health, these experiences reflect Mount Pisgah Christian School's commitment to nurturing the whole child from the very beginning. Even our youngest Patriots are learning that the world is wide, learning is joyful, and every day brings something new to discover.
