Who we are and what we believe.

Welcome to the Mount Pisgah Christian School website. We are confident that you will find much here to expand your understanding of and appreciation for our people, programs and Christ-centered culture. Drawing inspiration from the creator of all things and keeper of all Truth, we are a school with a Godly mission that seeks the Holy Spirit’s guidance in our service to young people. We are thrilled to celebrate our 30th anniversary this year.

We believe in the development of the whole child, and have high expectations for each student’s academic development, co-curricular involvement and level of commitment. For the majority of middle and upper school students, their “Mount Pisgah time” each day extends far beyond the ending bell. More than 80% are involved in co-curricular programs, athletics and volunteer service programs.

We nurture children to succeed across every realm: academic, spiritual, artistic and physical.  As a teaching faculty seeking to bring glory to a sovereign God, we pursue excellence on every dimension to glorify His name. We do not believe a Christian college preparatory school should settle for anything less. The challenges facing young people today are immense.  As former President of National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Patrick Bassett said, “We must prepare children for their future, not for our past.”  The world is changing exponentially, and schools today must change — and improve — if students are to develop the skills, ethical values and strength of character to overcome adversity and make an impact.

We are, by design, a school with small classes. The teacher-student relationship is at the core of how we develop these skills and character Click here to read the Portrait of the MPCS Teacher.  We meet students where they are, helping each to discover and develop her or his God-given gifts and passions.  We want students to learn and mature from the mistakes that are a natural part of the human condition.  As Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church Pastor Steve Wood reminds us, Jesus said, "I have told you these things, so that through me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NIV

If you have not visited campus, please allow us get to know you and your family by exploring all that we have to offer. We look forward to meeting you. Mount Pisgah Christian School is a very special place, where serving the individual student is at the heart of everything we do.
