Our Guiding Principles

We are confident that you will find much here to expand your understanding of and appreciation for our people, programs and Christ-centered culture. Drawing inspiration from the creator of all things and keeper of all Truth, we are a school with a Godly mission that seeks the Holy Spirit’s guidance in our service to young people.

We believe in the development of the whole child, and have high expectations for each student’s academic development, co-curricular involvement and level of commitment. For the majority of middle and upper school students, their “Mount Pisgah time” each day extends far beyond the ending bell. More than 80% are involved in co-curricular programs, athletics and volunteer service programs.

We nurture children to succeed across every realm: academic, spiritual, artistic and physical.  As a teaching faculty seeking to bring glory to a sovereign God, we pursue excellence on every dimension to glorify His name. We do not believe a Christian college preparatory school should settle for anything less. The challenges facing young people today are immense.  As former President of National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Patrick Bassett said, “We must prepare children for their future, not for our past.”  The world is changing exponentially, and schools today must change — and improve — if students are to develop the skills, ethical values and strength of character to overcome adversity and make an impact.

We are, by design, a school with small classes. The teacher-student relationship is at the core of how we develop these skills and character Click here to read the Portrait of the Mount Pisgah Christian School Teacher.  We meet students where they are, helping each to discover and develop her or his God-given gifts and passions.  We want students to learn and mature from the mistakes that are a natural part of the human condition.

Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
Luke 10.36-37
