Tyler Wilson, Class of 2016

What are you doing now?
Vendor Marketing at Corporate Home Depot, where I take companies like BEHR, Delta-Liberty, and Rust-Oleum and provide media plans including both onsite and offsite channels. I also run a Marketing Agency startup called Tyler Wilson Overtures where I provide Digital Content creation/consultation for clients including events (Weddings), photoshoots (such as Couples), and videography (such as corporate sponsors/music videos).

Do you think your time at Mount Pisgah helped you to pursue this?
It provided me with the opportunities for leadership and experience to practice the skills needed for future endeavors. Students who take advantage of the potential networking building in athletics, arts, and clubs who are motivated to take on responsibility for the sake of the organization and its members will be the ones to succeed moving forward.

Did you ever envision doing this while you were at Mount Pisgah?
A similar path involving media, but not in this direction. Originally thinking I wanted to be a “Producer” in the media world, I instead found an interest in the marketing side of things, as it involves less time traveling/on-set and provides a larger scope for all the media being created rather that emphasis on the artistic side. Both sides are exceptionally important, and I take pride in being an expert in each.

Who was your favorite teacher and why?
Mr. Felice because he was able to combine education and humor within the classroom. Accolades should also most defiantly be given to Mrs. Dover for her devout love and kindness, and Mr. Whitehurst for his compassion, understanding, and appreciation of what the larger world has to offer.

What was your most memorable moment as a student?
Senior Skits at SharpTop - My position in media provided me the role of being one of the major producers of the two shows, managing over 60 seniors and their creative ideas including videos, songs, skillful acts, and all of their technical needs including lighting, microphones, and music. To help my entire class achieve something that large and well-produced together is something I’ll never forget.

Describe Mount Pisgah in 3 words?
Prepared for Life

What is your lasting impression of Mount Pisgah?
Memories for a Lifetime, being an AΩ obviously helps this claim, but MPCS has a part in playing who I am today, regardless of where I end up. The friends, classmates, and staff were some of the first major influences I had, and that’s something I reflect on often.
