Why do you love teaching or working at Mount Pisgah?
I love teaching at Mount Pisgah because I believe in the Mission and Vision of the school. Teaching here gives me the opportunity to shape the dreams and opportunities of the children I serve. I get to contribute to their spiritual, social, emotional, and academic growth; an extraordinarily special gift.
Who was the most influential teacher/coach/instructor when you were growing up?
The most influential teacher I had growing up was Sister Gilmary, IHM. She was my AP Literature teacher senior year of high school. She never stopped pushing me to be a better writer and a deeper thinker. She truly taught me to think critically and not just take things at face value. Ultimately, she was the one who inspired me to take my love of reading and writing outside her classroom and work with children.
What is your favorite Pisgah moment/memory?
As a Pisgah parent, my fondest memory is watching my son perform in the Concert Under the Stars as a sixth grader. He was a reluctant chorus student, but was excited about the concert. The kids sang a medley of Beatles' songs and their enthusiasm was contagious! The whole crowd wound up singing along.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
