Why did you become a teacher?
I have always enjoyed being around children and knew that I wanted to get a teaching degree. I hope to make a difference in young people's lives and be the kind of teacher that they will always look back on and remember. I pray that God can use me to bring my students closer to Him.
Who was the most influential teacher/coach when you were growing up?
My 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Renna, in Athens, GA was very influential to me. She made learning fun and every student in her class loved coming to school. She was very enthusiastic about what she taught and even at a young age, I could tell that she really had a passion for teaching. I hope to be that kind of teacher that makes an impact and can bring out the best in each student.
What do you enjoy most about teaching?
I really enjoy getting to know all the different personalities in the classroom and learning about each student's life. They become family and you just can't help going to spend time with your family every day! It is also very meaningful to see how they progress through the year and to know that you had something to do with that.
