The Ideal Mount Pisgah Christian School Teacher:

  • Builds authentic, positive relationships and enthusiastically and eagerly takes part in the life of the school community.

  • Communicates proactively with parents and works alongside them as partners in the education of their child.

  • Strives to grow continuously in one’s academic discipline and stays abreast of curricular and pedagogical trends and research-based findings that advance teaching and learning.

  • Is driven to see students grow to understand and apply concepts, with the overarching goal to transform them through providing a dynamic classroom experience.

  • Offers differentiated instruction to serve students of varying abilities.

  • Engages in self-reflection on innovative teaching practice, and gathers input and feedback on his or her teaching from mentors, colleagues and students.

  • Mentors and seeks mentoring from colleagues in order to build a collaborative, cohesive and supportive community of learners.

  • Makes a difference in the school community and wider world, by working for peace and justice and protecting God’s creation.

  • Is meaningfully and enthusiastically involved in the life of the school community beyond serving in the classroom.

  • Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.  Philippians 4:8
