Assistant Head of Middle School
B.S., Applied Mathematics, Valdosta State University
What is your fondest Pisgah memory?
My first year at Pisgah, I was coaching 6th grade baseball. At our first practice, I lost my wedding ring on the field. All of the team and their parents helped me scour the field and find my ring. They were so enthusiastic and helpful that I knew I was in the right place.
Why did you become a teacher?
I was inspired by a teacher in high school, Mr. Billy Jones, to never give up, no matter how large a problem appeared from the outside. He taught us that as long as you begin, take it a piece at a time, and persevere, that you can work out anything. I want to be that inspiration for as many students as possible. Now I get to see him when we take our individual math teams to competitions.
