In our Lower School, Mount Pisgah offers after school care and we are delighted you are considering our program for your childcare needs. We are proud of the outstanding reputation we have established in the community for the high quality of childcare we provide. Our goal is to be in partnership with parents working toward the goal of fulfilling each child’s potential. It is the aim to create a safe atmosphere in which parents are secure in knowing their children are well cared for and happy in their home away from home.
Mount Pisgah focuses on all aspects of a child’s development welcoming children from all faiths, races and nationalities. Interaction and social networking with children of the same age is an integral part of our program as children are placed in the same grade classroom.
The spiritual growth of each student is very important to us. To foster the development of each child’s spirituality we offer an open and supportive atmosphere where concerns can be discussed within their own classroom and among friends. Teachers lead age appropriate Christ-centered devotions which includes discussion, prayer and praises. Team building and cooperation are emphasized during this time to generate a better understanding of the children’s needs, as well as teachers’ expectations to establish a working classroom. Mount Pisgah staff members are highly qualified and trained individuals dedicated to offering an excellent classroom structural setting for children until their day ends and they go home to family. To learn more about our program and meet the staff, we invite you to arrange for a tour. You are always welcome!
Due to Inclement Weather: Mount Pisgah Pathfinder After School Program follows Fulton County calendar and/or the Independent School calendar. In the event of Midday Closing, parents will be responsible for picking up their child(ren) at their respective school, as we are unable to contact all parents by telephone. Please monitor all news reports throughout the day in anticipation of midday closings. In the event of a closing, parents will be notified via ParentAlert text and or email from Program Director.
Emergency Procedures: Severe weather will be closely monitored by the school. Staff members are trained in appropriate emergency and evacuation procedures, CPR, and first aid. Evacuation and emergency plans are reviewed and updated periodically. Fire and emergency drills are held throughout the year.
Mount Pisgah Lower School also offers a variety of exciting extra curricular activities through Enrichment classes in the afternoon. A schedule of classes and registration information is made available each semester of the school year. Classes are offered weekly and typically continue for 8-12 weeks.
Classes take place on the Mount Pisgah Christian School South Campus and are open to both Mount Pisgah and Fulton County students enrolled in the After School program with age appropriate classes. For example, students jumped right into new chess classes with great enthusiasm. Lessons are taught once a week by 2011 (U2200) GA State Champion & 2011 World Am Representative, Candidate Master Jim Mundy. Jim has been teaching after school chess here for many years and was excited to start the course with the JK and K classes. Additional favorites are cooking club, art classes and more.
