Outstanding All-State Auditions

Rosa Kim and James Wickline traveled to Houston County to participate in the final round of all-state band auditions, and both did an excellent job. James earned one of only two spots for baritone saxophone in Georgia’s All-State Band.

The Georgia Music Educators Association sponsors a District Honor Band and an All-State Band annually to showcase the most talented students in each district and in the state of Georgia. Students are selected for participation by an extremely competitive audition process.

Both students earned the opportunity to audition for spots in the all-state ensembles at the district-level auditions. There, James earned both the district-level number one chair on baritone saxophone and the number two chair on tenor saxophone, and Rosa earned the district-level number two chair on oboe. Both students participated in the GMEA District V Honor Band weekend.

The Mount Pisgah band program continues to grow in excellence under the leadership of the talented and experienced Mr. Bryan Hatmaker. Beginning in fourth grade and continuing through twelfth grade, band students are given the opportunity to develop and showcase their talents. This encourages participation from beginning through advanced students. Pisgah students impress audiences at each of their musical performances throughout the year.

Under the direction of Mr. Bryan Hatmaker, multiple major concerts are presented each year, along with a variety of other showcase performances, and participation in state-wide festivals.

A highlight each year is the ever-popular Concert Under the Stars when families gather for a charming evening of entertainment al fresco in the beautiful meditation garden amphitheater.Talented Pisgah musicians, as well as thespians and vocalists, present impressive performances while families enjoy picnic dinners on the lawn.
